Educational Support

To speed up educational opportunities

Educational Support is an impact evaluation programme in three large learning areas: reading comprehension (LECXIT project), mathematical skills (MATH TUTORING project) and social-emotional skills (PENTABILITIES project). The programme is being implemented this 2022-23 academic year and will reach over 11,500 students in a vulnerable situation.

The Educational Support proposal involves over 150 educational centers from all around Catalonia, which are provided with easy-to-apply models that have a demonstrated impact. Educational Support can multiply the opportunities for academic success, reduce inequality and be included in public policy to build effective and replicable models.

The Educational Support programme incorporates a research and evaluation process that is used to validate the results obtained and contribute towards fostering public policies that focus on scientifically proven results.

Educational Support is made up of the following three projects:

  • LECXIT. A personalised extra-curricular mentorship programme to improve reading
  • MATH TUTORING. An extra-curricular tuition programme for maths enrichment. Each
session is held in small groups with three or four students per tutor.
  • PENTABILITIES. A project designed to foster the social and emotional skills of
secondary school students in the classroom.
