Laura Mencía

Holder of a bachelor’s degree in Sociology and a post-graduate degree in Participative Methodologies for Local Development from the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB).

Laura Mencía’s career path began in the third sector, promoting participation and associationism, and took shape in the Local Administration, first in the Education Department of Barcelona City Council and subsequently as a youth policies’ technician in the Regional Council of El Maresme. After that she entered the field of entrepreneurship, offering her services as a consultant on local educational policies and as a trainer of youth policies professionals. During this period, she has carried out local education diagnoses; she has designed local educational plans, city educational projects, educational success accompaniment plans, and local projects and networks of school-to-work transition; she has promoted training spaces and learning communities; and she has accompanied a local educational network for seven years.
