School segregation is a major education problem. Whether a question of socioeconomic segregation, academic segregation or segregation of newly arrived immigrants, we are faced with a situation that renders schooling conditions for schools and students unequal.

It is for this reason that we wish to determine what works (and what does not) in addressing the issue, focusing on the mechanisms aimed at managing the school choice and allocation process. Zoning, quotas, vouchers, information actions, “alternative” schools, allocation algorithms... what do we know about their effectiveness? And what can we learn from the evidence with a view to designing better anti-segregation policies in Catalonia?
