The Yearbook Education Challenges in Catalonia is presented as an instrument for the prioritisation and mobilisation of the political agenda. It sets out challenges and priority policies, identifies levers for change and puts forward specific transformation measures.

School funding is the foundation of the school system. It determines how many and what resources (human, monetary, material, training...) reach schools and colleges so that they can offer educational opportunities to their students.

Catalonia has an outstanding challenge in using research to lead the education system and respond to the challenges linked to education. We are committed to research to improve the country’s education!

A meeting space between teachers and educational researchers to share evidence and practices on various dimensions related to education.

The Fundació Bofill has developed Vota Educació, an initiative to give the main challenges of equality a prominent position in the Catalan elections. We want and believe that these elections should be about education, and that the next legislature should be one of education.

The collaborations included in this 2020 Yearbook, compiled by ten experts led by César Coll and Bernat Albaigés, address some of the most pressing educational challenges we share with our neighbouring countries, based on the reality of the Catalan education system, and its strengths and weaknesses.

Why open up education? Against educational inequalities. Due to the coronavirus crisis this year, children and young people may be out of school for six months. If we add the summer break to the final term of the 19/20 school year, which was online learning, children and young people are unlikely to set foot in the classroom until next year.

We are looking for 30 schools that wish to take a leap forward in the use of research to improve teaching practice and student learning.

The REFORMED project (Reforming Schools Globally: A Multi-Scalar Analysis of Autonomy and Accountability Policies in the Education Sector) aims to explore the implementation of decentralisation, school autonomy and accountability policies (through external tests such as basic skills tests) in different education systems. In particular, it explores how management teams and teaching staff perceive, interpret and implement these policies in their schools.

Many of the challenges we now face regarding our country’s education are not new. They do however take on a special relevance at this time; the current social and economic context allows us to consider our educational commitments in greater depth and with more ambition than in recent years.

El llistat de reptes d’aquest anuari 2018 ha estat construït mitjançant un procés deliberatiu i de treball en seminari d’experts. Com empoderar les escoles complexes, com garantir unes transicions educatives d’èxit per a tothom, com enfortir la col·laboració entre l’escola i la família, com fer dels centres educatius organitzacions que aprenen, quines competències, tecnologies i usos han de conformar l’educació digital a les nostres escoles..., són alguns dels temes triats enguany.

What Works in Education? is an initiative to collect and disseminate what we know about the effectiveness of educational interventions, in order to inform decision-making processes.

Aquest informe analitza les magnet schools dels EUA com una estratègia d’innovació educativa per combatre la segregació escolar i garantir una oferta educativa d’alta qualitat per a tot l’alumnat.

Municipis contra la segregació escolar, és un treball que recull les experiències de sis municipis catalans (Mataró, Olot, Manlleu, Terrassa, Girona i Valls) els quals al llarg dels darrers anys han desplegat amb diferents característiques i intensitat polítiques educatives de lluita contra la segregació.
